Range:	Western Europe
Habitat:	Woodland, grasslands, and urban areas - they occupy any area with sufficient food and shelter
Diet:	Invertebrates including: beetles, worms, slugs, and grasshoppers
Fun Facts:	Hedgehogs are primarily nocturnal. They rely on their sense of smell and hearing Their spiny coats are great defense. They have few predators including large owls, and badgers. Dogs and foxes can occasionally overcome the spines. Roads are a major cause of death for hedgehogs. Half of all deaths are caused by cars.
