Animals - Australian Connection
Explore the land down under! Australia is home to one of the most unique and interesting groups of animals, the marsupials. These are mammals that carry their babies in a pouch until the baby matures. The exhibit, finished in 1991, consists of an outback trail that brings you nose to nose with red kangaroos and a black swan.
Inside the building, dive into the Great Barrier Reef with colorful coral reef fish. Learn what size a baby kangaroo is at birth, hear the kookaburra laugh, and read about the aboriginal people, a culture time has forgotten.
