Winter Zoo Classes for Kids!

You now can register and pay for classes online at www.lszoo.org! The website will tell you if a class is full. If you have questions or need more information, just email us at edu@lszoo.org or call the Zoo’s Education Office at 218-730-4510. And, be sure to dress for the weather!

 

Toddler Time: for toddlers 1 - 2 years of age (no siblings please)
Enjoy a morning at the zoo with your toddler. 2008 is the year of the frog – so Toddler Time will explore leaping frogs, along with the other jumping, running and swimming animals in our world! A stroll through the zoo, interactive playtime and animal encounters create an exciting learning environment for your little one. All classes are from 10 - 11 am.

Rates: $8-members/$11-non-members

Wednesday, January 9th from 10 – 11 am
Thursday, February 14th from 10 – 11 am
Tuesday, March 18th from 10 – 11 am
Wednesday, April 9th from 10 – 11 am

Cub Club: for 3 - 6 year olds
Our zoo animals love winter! Join us for a fun-filled nature adventure! Each class is 2 hours long and includes a story, craft, games, and exploration of the Zoo. These classes are designed for children only please (age three through kindergarten). Limited spots available, so don't delay.

Rates: $10-members/$13-non-members

Cub Club Classes:

Artic vs. Antarctic: Do polar bears and penguins live together? Learn about the two ends of the earth and who lives where.

Tuesday, January 8th from 10 am - Noon
Wednesday, February 20th from 1 - 3 pm

Bear Necessities: Brown bears, black bears and polar bears; where do they live and what do they eat?

Tuesday, February 12th from 10 am - Noon
Wednesday, March 5th from 1 - 3 pm

Birds of a Feather: What makes a bird a bird? Learn about different beaks, feet and feathers.

Tuesday, March 11th from 10 am – Noon
Wednesday, April 2nd from 1 - 3 pm

Frogs: We’ll leap right in and explore the world of frogs, where they live and how they help the environment.

Monday, March 17th from 1 – 3 pm
Monday, April 7th from 1 – 3 pm

Homeschool Classes: for students age 7-9 or 10 & older.
This year we feature our Habitat Ecology Learning Program (HELP) designed by the Wildlife Conservation Society. The HELP curriculum spotlights five habitats and provides an overview of key ecological concepts. Science will come alive with exciting experiments, games, simulation, and of course live animals! These lessons are designed to spark a sense of wonder in your homeschooled student. All classes are from 1-3 pm on the 2nd Wednesday (for 7-9 year olds) and Thursday (for 10 & older) of the month. Join one class or all.

Rates: $10-members/$13-non-members.
