Earth Tracks Mission:
To inspire, educate and motivate the
public to reduce human impact on the Earth through the
concepts of reducing, reusing and recycling, energy and land
conservation, and alternatives to using chemicals. Sponsor
this event and help educate the community about what we all
can do to be better tenants of our Earth and to make choices
that are environmentally friendly.
Earth Tracks Audience: Children and adults attend. Friday is
marketed as a field day opportunity for school groups and
Saturday is a community special event to raise awareness of
how human beings can reduce their impact on planet Earth.
Anticipated attendance is 1,500 – 3,000 people.
Earth Tracks Format: Local businesses and organizations with
environmental products and/or messages advocate and inspire
attendees. An environmental scavenger hunt is held both days
to ensure that learning is successful and all participants
receive a reward upon completion and are asked to sign a
pledge to change habits to positively affect the Earth.
Earth Tracks Inspiration and Entertainment: Solar-powered
musician/educator Michael Monroe will provide a concert both
Friday and Saturday of the event. Additional entertainment
is pending and commitments will be solidified once event
sponsors are secured (i.e. Tricia & The Toonies – a highly
effective and interactive puppet show program with themes
focusing on reducing, reusing, recycling, pollution
prevention, and natural resource conservation).
Earth Tracks Topics: Solar energy, eco-friendly products,
recycling, pollution prevention, water quality, surface
water runoff problems and stream monitoring, use of rain
barrels, rain gardens and natural landscaping, organic food
items, sustainable cleaning products, and local summer
environmental leadership programs.
Earth Tracks Request: Help us achieve our mission – and your
mission to live an eco-friendly lifestyle. We all know that
we must reduce, reuse and recycle. By supporting the 2008
Earth Tracks event, you will help inspire people with ideas,
energize them with entertainment and activities, equip them
with information they need to know and most importantly …
empower them with options!
